¹ South Dakota lowered its state sales tax from 4.5% to 4.2% on July 1, 2023. Under current statute the rate reverts to 4.5% on July 1, 2027 (SD Department of Revenue).
² Personal mailbox (PMB) addresses are not accepted for South Dakota reemployment-assistance (unemployment-insurance) reporting since 2023, which matters if you carry W-2 income and want to domicile in SD (SD Department of Labor & Regulation).

“YourTaxBase was very easy, manageable, bit by bit on what's normally a long and complicated process.
My previous residence was California. Looking forward to saving more with zero percent state tax.

“washington doesnt have income tax but i still needed a real residential address for my banks and cards and mail scanning and uploading and forwarding while living in costa rica. these guys got it all done without trying to upsell me on stuff i dont need. solid.

“Very easy process.
I'm living in London with my partner and have been using the service for about a month. The only downside has been a delay in getting mail notifications and scans for some of my requests. It may be that my account is new and they're still tuning things for me. Otherwise so far so good and I'd recommend.

“Nine years over the road and I was still borrowing my sisters address in Illinois like a college kid.
Did the whole thing on a 34 hour reset in a Loves parking lot. Address was live before my break was over. My entire life fits in a Peterbilt now and none of it is pinned to a state I havent parked in since March. Mail scans through so a title renewal doesnt rot in a box for a month while Im in Oregon. Only gripe is nobody told me sooner, would have kept the Illinois cut off every settlement.

“I'm on a 13-week-rotation life and was tired of using my parents' address as my NLC compact base.
Switched to Florida through Your Tax Base. The tax-home documentation alone made it worth it for the per-diem deductions I was nervous about. Took about an hour.

“I had a video call with one of their advisors who walked me through the whole flow.
As a foreigner with a long list of questions about US tax exposure, the patience was much appreciated. Thank you.

“I left to teach overseas in 2018 telling myself it was for two years.
Eight years later a bank back home decided the address on file wasnt good enough and half froze my account until I could prove I lived somewhere real in the States, which I dont, not really. Found this looking for any fix and honestly expected another thing that half works. It didnt half work. Got a proper Florida address, did the notary over video one evening my time which was the middle of their afternoon, and sent the bank exactly what they asked for. Took me longer to dig out my passport for the ID step than to do the actual signing. The scanned mail turned out to be the sleeper feature, I see letters the day they land now instead of never. No state tax there either, though that was honestly never my problem.

“The whole process was incredibly easy.
Clear videos, FAQs, and step-by-step guides. We switched from Washington and had our Florida driver's licenses within days. Great experience.

“I've lived in Panama for almost three years and had been using a friend's address back in the States, which always felt like borrowed time.
After comparing my options I went with Your Tax Base. I spoke with one of the team members on a video call a couple of months ago, took my time thinking it through, and finally did the full onboarding this morning. About fifty minutes start to finish. For anyone abroad who needs a real US address, especially with Florida's tax setup, I strongly recommend it. Looking forward to finishing the Florida driver's license piece.

“Three different recruiters told me three different things about keeping my tax home, so I stopped guessing and set up a real Florida domicile here.
License, contracts and direct deposit all point at one address now. The checklist told me exactly what order to do it in. Wish someone had explained it to me two assignments ago.

“I moved from California to Florida through YourTaxBase and they made it painless.
Since heading overseas, the permanent and mailing addresses have held up everywhere I've needed them, and the mail handling has been smooth. Tax savings is the obvious win, but the unexpected bonus was that my new country recognized my Florida license without making me retest. The staff is responsive. Recommended for anyone considering the move.

“As a digital nomad from California I used to pay five figures in state taxes.
Switching to Florida through Your Tax Base took just minutes. Forms, address, domicile, all handled. Great service, fast support, huge money saver.

“I did a lot of research and couldn't find a better fit than Your Tax Base.
There are a few solutions out there, but this one made the most sense, walking me through every step and connecting me straight into the notary service. It was painless, and a process I'd dreaded ended up being genuinely pleasant. Saved me so much time. Thank you.

“Heads up that the USPS Form 1583 step needs an online notary, which costs extra.
Nobody mentioned that in earlier reviews. Previous state is Illinois and the state has been aggressive about full residency, even though I work and spend over 200 days in another country each year. Not yet sure whether this Florida domicile move will resolve that history, but the onboarding has been solid and the team is helping me build the documentary record. Will come back with an update.

“Your Tax Base has figured out the best way to become a Florida resident.
I used to be in North Carolina and now, two hours after signing up, I'm officially Florida domiciled. Great job. Being overseas, having every step documented in the dashboard was huge. Online notary worked first try. Thanks again for what you guys do.

“I have been putting off moving my domicile for so long because of the unknowns.
After all of my research it was a no brainer to go with this company. I have felt as if I was a part of a group with how the concierge helped with all of my questions. We even completed everything remotely from our Dell. This is very impressive.

“the fedex guy at a venue in cleveland handed me my own mail once. thats what happens when you tour eight months a year and never bothered to fix your address. fixed now. one florida address, everything scans straight to my phone so i clear it during soundcheck. and new york can quit pretending i live there.

“Moving from New York to Florida was seamless.
Everything from the address setup to the post-onboarding checklist was perfectly organized. The process was smooth, great value, and I'm now saving a substantial amount on state taxes. Highly recommend.

“One of the few services that made changing domicile genuinely simple.
The portal was clear, the notary integration was seamless, and the team was super responsive. I switched from Arizona and saved meaningfully on taxes, all with clear guidance and no stress. Highly recommend.

“We work seasonal jobs.
Summers in Colorado, winters wherever the work takes us. Were paying Colorado state taxes the whole time even though we werent really based there in any permanent way. Set up Florida residency through your tax base as our home base. Having one permanent address while we move around has simplified everything from banking to insurance. We manage everything for mail through our phones between jobs which is nice.

“I just registered on Your Tax Base and everything is clear.
I'm happy to work with them. I'm curious how I'll find the address pin when I show up in person, but the onboarding flow already answered most of my questions. Thank you.

Everything you need to know about Florida residency.
Florida offers significant tax advantages: 0% state income tax on wages, retirement income, and investment gains. There's also no estate or inheritance tax, strong asset protection laws, and homestead exemption. Whether you're a travel nurse protecting stipends, a remote worker escaping high-tax states, or a retiree keeping more of your pension, Florida residency stops you from handing your former state $7,200-$25,000+ every year.
No. The "six months and a day" figure is a myth for establishing domicile. Florida sets no minimum number of days you must be physically present to become a resident. What the law looks at is your intent to make Florida your permanent home, shown through objective ties: a Florida driver's license, voter registration, a Declaration of Domicile filed with the clerk of the circuit court, and a real Florida address on your banking and official records. The 183-day rule works the other way around. It is the threshold a high-tax state uses to keep taxing you, so the goal is to spend fewer than 183 days in your former state, not to hit a day count inside Florida.
No. You don't need to own property or spend a minimum number of days in Florida. What matters is demonstrating intent to make Florida your permanent legal home. This includes having a Florida driver's license, registering to vote, maintaining a Florida address for banking and official documents, and filing a Declaration of Domicile. We help you establish and maintain all these connections.
Not automatically. Wintering in Florida does not make you a resident by itself, and owning a Florida home does not either. Snowbirds become Florida residents by genuinely making Florida their permanent home and documenting it: a Declaration of Domicile, a Florida driver's license, Florida voter registration, and a Florida address on your financial and official records. Then watch the other side. If you spend 183 days or more in your former state, or keep your strongest ties there, that state can still tax you as a resident. Count your days and keep proof of where you were.
You can complete the initial setup in as little as 2 weeks. This includes getting your Florida address, completing a Declaration of Domicile, and beginning the process for your Florida driver's license. Full establishment, including updating all accounts and documents, typically takes 30-60 days. Our team guides you through every step.
You can change your domicile to Florida, but these states are aggressive about retaining residents for tax purposes. You'll need to properly sever ties with your former state: surrender your old driver's license, update voter registration, move banking relationships, and document your intent thoroughly. We help you build a defensible domicile file. Consult a tax professional for your specific situation.
Key documents include: Florida driver's license or ID, Declaration of Domicile filed with the county clerk, voter registration, vehicle registration (if applicable), and updated addresses on bank accounts, insurance, and tax returns. For travel nurses, you'll also need documentation supporting your tax home. We provide guidance and assistance for all of these.
We provide a legitimate Florida residential address (not a PO Box) for establishing domicile. Our service includes virtual mailbox with mail forwarding, step-by-step guidance for driver's license and voter registration, document storage, and ongoing support. Plans start at $55/month. We handle the administrative complexity so you can focus on your lifestyle.
Absolutely. We provide real residential addresses in Florida for people who genuinely intend to make Florida their legal domicile. This is a common and legal practice used by thousands of travel nurses, RVers, expats, and remote workers. The key is genuine intent - you must actually intend for Florida to be your permanent home base, even if your work takes you elsewhere.
All mail sent to your Florida address is received, scanned, and accessible through your online dashboard. You can view mail digitally, request forwarding to any address worldwide, request shredding, or request storage. Essential documents like IRS notices and financial statements are forwarded promptly. Higher-tier plans include more forwarding and international shipping options.
