What buyers ask first
Pricing questions, answered.
Will banks accept a Your Tax Base Florida address?
Your Tax Base gives you a real residential street address in Florida, the address type most US banks and brokerages ask for on account records and KYC checks. You also get proof-of-address letters to back it up. Each institution sets its own policy, so confirm with your provider, and the Your Tax Base team helps you respond if an institution asks questions.
Your Tax Base gives you a residential street address in a residential community, not a PO Box. Mail handling runs through a separate USPS-registered mailbox that you authorize with Form 1583. Each institution decides how it classifies any address.
Is it legal to change my domicile to Florida with Your Tax Base?
Yes. The U.S. Constitution protects your right to move to another state and be treated as its citizen. Florida is one of nine states with no broad income tax on wages, and its constitution bars a personal income tax. Your Tax Base helps you complete every step properly, including your Declaration of Domicile, driver's license, voter registration, and vehicle registration, so your move is fully documented. Whether your former state accepts the move depends on your facts and the ties you keep there.
Do I need to live in Florida to use Your Tax Base?
Florida law sets no minimum number of days to establish domicile, though some benefits, such as in-state tuition, have their own waiting periods. You visit a Florida driver license office once, in person. For most drivers the license is valid for eight years, and you can renew it online or by mail once before the next in-person visit. What matters is showing intent through documentation: your Florida address, driver's license, voter registration, and vehicle registration. Your Tax Base prepares the documents and the checklists; you complete the applications, and each agency decides what it accepts.
Can I use Your Tax Base if I own a home in another state?
Yes. Owning property elsewhere does not disqualify you from establishing Florida domicile. What matters is making Florida your true legal home and documenting it: your Declaration of Domicile, Florida driver's license, voter registration, and the pattern of ties showing Florida is your primary residence. Day counts matter differently by state. Under New York's statutory residency rule, you can be taxed as a resident if you keep a home there for substantially all of the year and spend 184 or more days in the state, where any part of a day counts. California has no simple day-count test and weighs domicile and your closest connections, though spending more than nine months there in a year creates a presumption of residency. Your Tax Base helps you keep the documentation that shows Florida as your primary legal residence, wherever you own property.
What is the difference between the Your Tax Base Essential and Tax Guardian plans?
The biggest difference is CPA access. Tax Guardian includes 30 minutes per month of CPA consultation, a spouse or family member at no extra charge, mail and a business address for one business, Florida Registered Agent service for your LLC or corporation, and your Declaration of Domicile recording fee reimbursed. For most professionals, Tax Guardian offers the best value.
What does Your Tax Base charge when I sign up?
One annual payment for the plan you pick: $660 for Essential Domicile ($55/mo), $1,080 for Tax Guardian ($90/mo), or $3,000 for Premium ($250/mo), processed by Stripe. Online notarization of USPS Form 1583 is an optional $35 for each form, or you can use your own notary. After setup, mail handling you use, such as forwarding postage and opening and scanning contents, is paid as you go from a prepaid postage balance. Premium is set up personally, so nothing is charged until after your call with our team.
Does Your Tax Base have hidden fees or additional charges?
No. Every fee is listed in your service agreement, and your plan price covers the plan's included services. Mail handling, such as forwarding postage and opening and scanning contents, is paid as you go from a prepaid postage balance. Online notarization of each Form 1583 is an optional $35. Your driver's license and vehicle registration carry their own Florida agency fees. Essential and Tax Guardian have no setup or cancellation fees. On Premium, the residential lease and utility bill in your name carry their own one-time and monthly costs, quoted on your setup call before anything is charged.
Can I switch Your Tax Base plans later?
Yes. You can move from Essential to Tax Guardian anytime from your dashboard, and Premium is set up with you after a call. Moves to a lower plan take effect at your next annual renewal. Essential and Tax Guardian share the same Florida address, so switching between them changes nothing about your domicile record. Premium uses a separate leased home, so moving to Premium comes with a new address.
How much does a virtual address cost?
Standalone virtual mailboxes usually start around $10 to $15 a month, and higher-volume plans can reach $40 or more. A virtual address alone is not a domicile, though. Your Tax Base starts at $55 per month, billed annually at $660, and pairs the address with the rest of the record: USPS Form 1583 with optional online notarization, Declaration of Domicile preparation, mail scanning and forwarding, and year-round compliance tracking. If an address is all you need, a basic mailbox service is cheaper. If Florida residency is the goal, the plan is the better spend.
What is the Your Tax Base Action Center, and which plan includes it?
The Action Center is our AI mail triage, standard on every Your Tax Base plan. From each scanned notice it pulls out the deadline, what happens if you miss it, and the reference code. It shows the phone number and website printed on the notice, and marks them verified when they match our directory of known agencies. Medical and legal mail get reduced extraction. You choose, overall and per category, whether extracted details are shown, and you can purge an item's stored extraction in one click.
What does Your Tax Base do with my mail?
Everything that arrives for you shows up in your online mailbox, with a photo of each envelope. From there you choose what happens to each piece: open and scan it, forward it, shred it, or hold it. Mail is held until you decide, and opening and scanning contents is billed per page from your postage balance. Tax Guardian and Premium add mail for a spouse or family member and one business. Letters forward to any address worldwide; packages forward to US addresses.
Does Your Tax Base forward jury summons?
Yes. Jury summons arrive in your online mailbox like any other mail, and you can forward them to wherever you are. If you are abroad when summoned, you can ask the clerk for a postponement or a hardship excusal, and each county decides these requests case by case. The Your Tax Base team can walk you through the request.
What happens to my mail if I cancel Your Tax Base?
Nothing stops abruptly. Cancel your renewal anytime from your dashboard and your plan simply does not renew; there are no cancellation fees. After your service ends, Your Tax Base keeps forwarding your first-class mail for 30 days to the forwarding address you provide, so statements, cards, and government mail still reach you while you update your address everywhere. Forwarding postage comes from your postage balance, and any unused postage is refunded at the end of the 30 days.
Do I need to drive my vehicle to Florida for registration?
No. Your Tax Base prepares the mail-in title and registration packet, and a police officer in any US state can do the required VIN check. The county tax collector decides what it accepts. Once your vehicle is titled in Florida, you can renew its registration online.
Can I set up Your Tax Base from abroad or while traveling?
Almost entirely, yes. You can sign up, receive your Florida address, get your Declaration of Domicile prepared, sign it before a notary and file it by mail, and register your vehicle by mail. The only trip to Florida is for your driver's license, which takes a single visit.
