How Mail Forwarding Works

Once you're set up with Your Tax Base, all mail sent to your Florida address is received on your behalf. Depending on your plan, we'll forward mail to wherever you are - whether that's your next work assignment, your RV location, or overseas.

Nothing ships automatically. Letter mail is held free for 30 days from the day it arrives, so you can scan, forward, or shred it in that window. You can also send several items together in one package instead of paying postage per envelope. After 30 days a letter moves to archive and can only be forwarded (see Archived Mail below). Packages are different: storage fees can apply if a package is held past 30 days.

On every plan, you can view your mail online before it's forwarded:

How It Works

1. Mail arrives at your Florida address
2. We scan the exterior of each envelope
3. Images appear in your online dashboard within 24-48 hours
4. You decide: forward, scan contents, shred, or hold

Content Scanning

If you need to see what's inside an envelope immediately:

• Request a content scan through your dashboard
• We open the mail and scan all pages
• PDF is uploaded to your account within 24 hours
• Original can be forwarded, held, or shredded

Archived Mail: What Happens After 30 Days

Every letter waits in your mailbox for 30 days from the day it arrives. In that window you can scan it, forward it, or shred it, and there is no charge for waiting. From day 23 your dashboard shows a countdown on each letter so nothing slips past you.

If a letter is still with us after 30 days, our mail team moves it into archive at our facility. Archived mail is kept safely, but it can no longer be opened and scanned or shredded. Forwarding is the only option left.

You do not need to forward archived mail on its own. It ships automatically with your next forward, whichever piece you send and whether or not you bundle items together. Postage reflects the combined weight of the package. If you would rather not receive an archived piece, forward it anyway and shred it when it arrives; there is no way to shred it from the dashboard once it is archived.

Packages follow their own 30- and 60-day storage schedule and are never archived.

Setting Your Forwarding Address

You can update your forwarding address anytime through your dashboard:

• Domestic addresses: Hotels, apartments, family homes, RV parks
• International addresses: Most countries supported
• Temporary addresses: Update as often as needed for travel assignments

International Shipping Options

Customs Considerations

• We complete customs forms for international shipments
• Recipient may be responsible for local duties/taxes
• Some items cannot be shipped internationally (check prohibited items)

Junk Mail Filtering

Nobody wants to pay to forward junk mail. We help filter it:

• Obvious junk: Bulk mail and "resident" mail is automatically filtered
• With scanning: Review mail images and choose what to shred vs. forward
• Opt-out assistance: We can help you opt out of major mailing lists

Special Mail Handling

Certified and Registered Mail

We accept and sign for certified mail, registered mail, and signature-required deliveries on your behalf.

Jury Duty Summons

If you receive a jury duty summons, we'll notify you immediately. As a Florida resident, you may be called for jury duty in the county of your address.

Legal Documents

Important legal documents (court notices, IRS correspondence) are flagged for priority handling and immediate notification.
